We're a strong community and the we've proven it time and time again. There are some changes coming to Splinterlands on June 1st after the current season ends. I know we've had a great celebration with the Halfing Alchemist recently. Still..... why pass a chance to celebrate the move towards a more decentralized blockchain. It's not like we'll be loosing players. We'll be on stronger infrastructure and we'l be growing as usual or even faster if a crypto bull market comes up.
On Monday, June 1st, 2020 the Splinterlands game is planning to switch to the Hive blockchain as the blockchain of record for all game-related transactions. This is a very important transition for the game and not something we take lightly, but we feel that it is necessary to ensure the best possible future for the project and that it is in the best interest of our players and stakeholders. The reasoning behind that is described in more detail below.
Our goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible for everyone involved. Ideally, most players will not even know that anything has happened; however, in reality there are likely to be some unexpected things that will come up. We will do our best to address many of the questions we expect players will have in this post, but if there is anything we haven't covered please feel free to ask in the comments, in Discord, or via email at [email protected] and we will respond as quickly as possible.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I don't think any crypto community has gone through anything at the level of the hell we've been through. Even after the Hard Fork 23 stuff we kept going stronger with Steemit Inc failing at their goal. I had so much fun reading through the memos sent to the "community321" account.I'd say we should celebrate with an ability that makes the monsters stronger when they get attacked.
https://duckduckgo.com/i/67c513b2.png Let's take a very dangerous ability and turn it on its head. I'd let the devs to fine tune this. I'd just love to see an ability where the monster gets poisoned and instead of -2 health, it's going to gain +1 or +2 health at each round as long as the poison effect is there. The opponent will have to pray they won't poison the monster with Poison Absorption ability.
There's another cool way to pull this off. Instead of healing the player, getting poisoned could trigger "Shield" & "Void" abilities making the monster more resistant to attacks. It could even trigger other abilities like "Thorns", "Magic Reflect", "Return Fire" or even straight up healing for 1 round (could turn out to be fun and satisfying and even change the outcome of a battle)
I understand that creating and balancing a game like Splinterlands is a tough job. I'm simply trying to look for ways to celebrate and improve the game that I've invested my time, fiat & crypto into.
