Steem Block Guardians #1

On the Steem blockchain, witnesses serve the role of validating signatures and timestamping transactions by including them in blocks. A block is any group of transactions (posts, votes, transfers, etc) that update the state of the database. Each time a witness produces a block, they are paid for their service. If a witness fails to produce a block, then they are not paid, and may even be voted out.

Witnesses are generally expected to manage a reliable block producing node, implement a failover system, maintain a public seed node, tune blockchain operating parameters, but since Steem is a well know blockchain we need to have many different servers in various locations so as to keep the integrity of the network.

As a Steem user who wants to see this platform continue to grow and flourish, we all have 30 votes to cast for any Steem witness of our choice and I will say this is the most important 30 votes you will ever cast on this platform.

let's call them Blockchain Guardians or slightly used term block producers.

Meet our Blockchain Guardians is a series put in place to know more about our very own witnesses, there roles and obligations. We need them as much as they need us. Our witnesses are the Transaction bookers on the platform and thus it is our paramount importance that we do our due diligence before casting our votes.

I will start this series with my self so you can get to know me a bit more.

Join me as I welcome my self @chronocrypto , Meet Our Blockchain Guardians.

What brought you to Steem?

  • I have been in the crypto space for some time, Honestly I found Steem on coinmarketcap it had a nice rise and when I read what the blockchain was about I was immediately hooked.

What got you interested in becoming a Witness?

  • I understand how important the role that witnesses play for the platform. Without witnesses, the blockchain will not function. Becoming a witness is my way to show my dedication to the Steem community and to use the rewards from being a witness to reward the community. This is an opportunity for me to help in the continuation of an amazing blockchain.

What have you developed for Steem?

  • At first when bid bots were the norm I was running, @chronoboost, I have also created @xopus which is a service that was introduced to help people create Blogs using the steempress plugin. I have also done non-development projects such as doing many contests which I plan on doing more of.

Being a witness takes a lot of time and energy, how do you keep a balance between this and other commitments?

  • I have always had stressful jobs and actually thrive under pressure. I have a love for what I do here on the blockchain and I put my heart into my posts and my projects. Running many projects you have to manage your time.

Where do you see Steem in 5 years?

  • I am excited about the future of this platform. There is so much potential here and the community is amazing. It still is, even after the whole mess. In my opinion, Steem will be a serious contender once we get more Dapps built on the platform and prove the utility of Steem once and for all.

When you are not in front of your computer helping the Steem community, what other hobbies do you have?

  • I love to take Macro Photography and Landscape shots, I also enjoy time with family and I am also an advocate on cannabis so you might see some of my work.

If you could only vote for one witness (not yourself) who would it be and why?

*Well as of right now I would vote for @enginewitty and @steemchiller they are going to be an essential part in rebuilding steem.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

  • Stop time, or rather immortality I would love to see the world in the future 2045 or further I don't mind living a long life as long as our tech thrives.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this first community Blockchain Guardians. 🤝🏻

  • Of course! As I mentioned when you asked me, this is a nifty idea, and I think it will be good for both witnesses and users alike. I really appreciate how much the community joins together here, and truly hope that this is something that will never change here on Steem.

As Steem users we need to do everything in our power to choose Block Guardians that will represent the community well. Before voting make sure you do some research on the people you are voting for and be informed. Head over to https://steemit.com/~witnesses and click on some of the witnesses names, get to know them a bit better and do your part to make sure this community thrives.

Now that you have read something about @chronocrypto, It will be good and kind of you to show them some love by going to the witness page, search the box and type @chronocrypto to cast your vote for them as your Block Producer.

✅ Every Single Vote Counts!

Please take a minute to jump over to the Block Producer / Witness page and cast your votes. Simply click on the (^) up arrow next to my username "chronocrypto" and supply your private account or active key to lock in your vote.

Welcome to the Steem Blockchain. @chronocrypto .... hopefully it can be revived. Voted for you.

  • @wajahatsardar

I personally don't know about you at all but after reading your post I started knowing you and if you are serious for steem blockchain and you want to help steem grow my vote is for you. I wish you best of luck.

  • @enginewitty

One witness and you pick me? I'm honored and humbled. Thank you!

On another note, immortality would be super sweet! Would have to be able have some kind of weakness. You know, like vampires can die but otherwise live on. Maybe like a weakness to kryptonite 😜

  • @berniesanders

    You're a pathetic retard @chronocrypto.
